Round 3

Well, it’s time for game 3. Tonight Carlos Silva will be on the mound against Kevin Brown. I think Silva has a pretty good chance.

A couple years ago Kevin Brown was a monster. I remember drafting him in fantasy baseball. However, that was a couple years ago. This year he has been less than impressive.

With the Dodgers in 2000 and 2001 he posted back to back sub-3.00 ERA’s. This year was a completely different story.

Brown went 10-6 with a 4.09 ERA and only 83 strikeouts. And, in what was probably the shining moment of his 2004 season, missed some playing time because of trying to punch out a wall. As most of you know, in the matchup of man vs. wall, the wall usually wins.

Silva’s stats this year haven’t been much better. In 33 games he posted a 14-8 record with a 4.21 ERA and 76 K’s. The big difference is this last month Silva is 4-0 with 2.41 ERA while Brown was 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA.

All in all it’s shaping up to be a pretty good game. Let’s hope Silva out pitches Brown and the Twins defense plays well against the big boppers of the Evil Empire.
