Yup, it’s cold here in Montana. Woke up this morning and it was -14F. Not as bad as Seth Stohs and any of the guys in Minnesota, but still pretty decent.
I remember my first year of college here in South-Central Montana. We had 24″ of snow one night followed by 2 weeks of -30F or lower. I started to question my choice of a Montana school. You know, when you experience weather like that, places like Arizona and Florida start to sound really good. If you could just get rid of about 80% of the people, I’d be there.
This weekend is THE game in this NFL season. Third matchup between the Vikings and Packers. I like to think that it’s hard for one team to beat another 3 times in a single season, but I’m wrong. Quite a few of the ESPN pundits have pointed out that in the 16 times two teams have played each other and one team swept the season series, 10 times the 3 game ended in a full season sweep. Although this makes my wife pretty happy, I’m a little nervous. The only thing that helps alleviate some of this is the belief that this is the type of game that the Vikes tend to win. They have nothing to lose, everyone is picking against them, and the Packers have what is viewed as a much tougher opponent next week.
My pick? Vikings win 34-31.
Want to hear something cool? Only about two months until the first Twins spring training game. I just wish the Twins had upgraded a little more so they had a better chance of going deeper in the playoffs. Oh well, atleast we still have a team in Minnesota.
