Is there a reason that the courts in the US reward idiots? A woman is awarded $300 million dollars because she was stupid enough to start smoking. Yes I understand that the tobacco companies were not upfront about what is in their tobacco blends but what intelligent person would actually think that inhaling burning leaves and paper is actually good for you?
I hate the litigative nature of our society. What happened to people being responsible for their actions. I can understand suing for gross negligence (i.e. the vermiculite problem in Libby, Montana). But, when you are suing because you are an idiot, that doesn’t sit well.
Guess I’m just missing something.
