Boat bash rocks Vikings

Boat bash rocks Vikings

Is there anyone else that thinks something is fishy about this whole thing? Everything I’ve read on the situation (and I’ve read a lot about it) shows that the only person saying anything is the lawyer for the cruise company. One article I read said that Doyle, the lawyer, was too busy fielding media requests to discuss the matter with police. What? Shouldn’t his first responsibility be to get the whole thing figure out and start prosecution not making a name for himself?

Unfortunately this is one of those situations where the media will run with it for a while because it’s “good press”. If it is determined that there is no foundation for the allegations the media will just let it go. They won’t say “oops, we messed up” or anything to exonerate the Vikings. I hate this crap.

TwinsGeek.com – Gone forever

Just wanted anyone that still reads this to know that a great resource for everything Twins related is about to close. John Bonnes has decided to shut down Twinsgeek.com and Twinsterritory.com. Head over and pay your last respects.

I completely understand why John is closing shop. My writing is neither as good as his nor as plentiful and I still have a hard time coming up with new and interesting topics. I would love to write 2000 words daily but I just can’t do it. When you add in a month old son and some other life events, it quickly becomes hard to spend time on the computer.

The Twins Geek was the guy who first really interested me in the world of blogging. When I first read a post of his I realized how much you could do with this new form of reporting. It made me want to be a little like him.

Through his writing I was also lead to some others that helped broaden my understanding of the Twins. Aaron Gleeman and Seth Stohs are both in my daily lineups of “must reads” because John Bonnes mentioned them.

Although it’s kind of sad to lose the “Godfather” of Twins blogs, I like to think that the torch will continue to be carried by the many capable bloggers who started because of him. Hopefully I can help keep the fires burning.

Twins sever ties with Rivas, Ryan

Yippee!!! He’s gone. It’s about fricking time. I can’t believe it has taken the Twins management this long to realize that Rivas had no business on the team. Hopefully this is a harbinger of good changes to come.

You know, the only thing I ever liked about Rivas was the “old fashioned” look he had. I love the high pants and stockings thing. I always feel the guys that have the long pants that are loose and bunched up look like slobs (yes C.C. Sabathia, I’m looking at you).

Check out Seth’s lineup for next year. Obviously everything is up in the air right now (except for the first base, catcher and 3/5 of the pitching staff). However, he shows how the Twins can add some pop to the lineup without breaking the bank.

The way it’s looking right now, we Minny sports fans only have one hope and that is that the Timberwolves will gel and actually have a playoff team. Who would have believed that the Vikes would be so bad and that the Twins would miss the playoffs?
