Seth Stohs

Seth Stohs

Well, Seth Stohs is going on hiatus for a couple days and he’s put the onus on some of us other bloggers to pick up the slack (enjoy the break Seth ;) ). Anyway, I’ll try my best.

Superbowl is about two weeks away. What does that mean? We have two weeks of every NFL pundit saying the same things over and over.

Overall I don’t care at all about this SB. My in-laws are from New England, so I almost feel like I should support the Patriots, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. However, I also have a hard time supporting any team who has Terell Owens on it. So this Superbowl I will support the commercials and the celebration we will be having at our local Old Chicago. Hey, they are giving away a 52″ big screen tv. Maybe I can win that.

Oh, 26 days until pitchers and catchers report for the Twins.

And finally. My wife and I are going to Las Vegas in May. We’ve been there before, so we have a general idea of what to do, expect, etc. However, if anyone has any ideas of things that are must sees, please send them my way. We are probably going to stay at either the Barbary Coast or the Imperial Palace (unless we can find a great deal at the Bellagio or Paris). We want to go to Fremont Street one night. Where’s a good place to go there?

Football is dead in my book

Ok. Football is about over. Yeah I know there are the conference championship games and the Superbowl, but I haven’t watched a Superbowl because of the actual game in quite a few years. Basically the Superbowl is all about the commercials and the party.

Anyway, it’s almost baseball time. Today I’m wearing my Twins jersey just to get in the mood. I can’t wait until spring training.

In other news, my wife and I are going to Las Vegas towards the end of May. Anyone have tips on places to go, things to see, etc. feel free to either write a comment or email them to me. This will be our second trip there, so we’re relatively familiar with everything.

Take care, and thanks for reading.

It’s cold in Montana

Cold Montana

Yup, it’s cold here in Montana. Woke up this morning and it was -14F. Not as bad as Seth Stohs and any of the guys in Minnesota, but still pretty decent.

I remember my first year of college here in South-Central Montana. We had 24″ of snow one night followed by 2 weeks of -30F or lower. I started to question my choice of a Montana school. You know, when you experience weather like that, places like Arizona and Florida start to sound really good. If you could just get rid of about 80% of the people, I’d be there.

This weekend is THE game in this NFL season. Third matchup between the Vikings and Packers. I like to think that it’s hard for one team to beat another 3 times in a single season, but I’m wrong. Quite a few of the ESPN pundits have pointed out that in the 16 times two teams have played each other and one team swept the season series, 10 times the 3 game ended in a full season sweep. Although this makes my wife pretty happy, I’m a little nervous. The only thing that helps alleviate some of this is the belief that this is the type of game that the Vikes tend to win. They have nothing to lose, everyone is picking against them, and the Packers have what is viewed as a much tougher opponent next week.

My pick? Vikings win 34-31.

Want to hear something cool? Only about two months until the first Twins spring training game. I just wish the Twins had upgraded a little more so they had a better chance of going deeper in the playoffs. Oh well, atleast we still have a team in Minnesota.
