The Chicken Whisperer Definitely a time of poli…

The Chicken Whisperer

Definitely a time of political discussion. I am a conservative. I try to vote for the person I think is the best candidate. Most often that person is the republican candidate.

I’ve been reading a lot of political dissertations lately and I decided to spread them with my small audience. The Chicken Whisperer is a pretty funny read. As is Dave Kopel. An article of note on Kopel’s site is his “59 deceits in Fahrenheit 911“.

It has recently been brought to my attention that Dave Kopel may have some problems with his point-by-point rebuttal to Michael Moore’s film. If any of my readers are interested in the “counter to the counter of Fahrenheit 9/11″ feel free to read it here.

Another article that is a good read (unless you are blind to Michael Moore’s fallacies) is by Christopher Hitchens. There has been some bashing of Hitchens lately, but I still feel his message is valid.

And finally a quick blurb about Theresa “Don’t call me catsup” Heinz Kerry. Is she about the most useless person you’ve ever seen attached to a presidential hopeful? The only thing she brings to the party is her money.

That’s all for today. I still plan on giving my opinion on some of the key issues in the upcoming election. However, I need to get enough motivation to sit down and write.

Nothing to say

I haven’t known what to write since the Twins were eliminated from the playoffs. Sometime soon I will try to put something up about the Vikings and the Timberwolves.

Also, I have some feelings about the up coming election that I will try to touch on. Head over to Seth Speak’s. He has a pretty good rundown on last night’s debate. I will probably talk about this post when I write mine.

Anyway, I hope to be back sometime soon.

Round 3

Well, it’s time for game 3. Tonight Carlos Silva will be on the mound against Kevin Brown. I think Silva has a pretty good chance.

A couple years ago Kevin Brown was a monster. I remember drafting him in fantasy baseball. However, that was a couple years ago. This year he has been less than impressive.

With the Dodgers in 2000 and 2001 he posted back to back sub-3.00 ERA’s. This year was a completely different story.

Brown went 10-6 with a 4.09 ERA and only 83 strikeouts. And, in what was probably the shining moment of his 2004 season, missed some playing time because of trying to punch out a wall. As most of you know, in the matchup of man vs. wall, the wall usually wins.

Silva’s stats this year haven’t been much better. In 33 games he posted a 14-8 record with a 4.21 ERA and 76 K’s. The big difference is this last month Silva is 4-0 with 2.41 ERA while Brown was 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA.

All in all it’s shaping up to be a pretty good game. Let’s hope Silva out pitches Brown and the Twins defense plays well against the big boppers of the Evil Empire.

Twins beat Yankees

MLB.com

In what was a mediocre start (for him) by Johan Santana, the Twins beat the New York Yankees 2-0. Santana gave up 9 hits, 1 walk and only struck out 5. The defense however showed up today recording 5 double plays to help Santana win his 14th since the All Star break.

Santana is a dominant pitcher. Tonight he didn’t look that good, but that was mostly because us fans expect him to be perfect. He’s shown us how good he can be, so now we have a hard time settling for only fantastic.

Tomorrow Brad Radke will be facing Jon Lieber. During the regular season Lieber went 14-8 with a 4.33 ERA and 102 strikeouts while Brad Radke went 11-8 with a 3.48 and 143 K’s.

If you only look at the pitching, it looks like the Twins have a decent shot of winning the second game of the series. However, after watching the game tonight you realize how good the Yankees hitters are. I know they didn’t score any runs, but that was mostly because of some pretty good defense on the Twins side.

Hopefully Brad has his A-game tomorrow. Taking a 2-0 lead into the Metrodome would be huge. That place would be rocking, and with the Yankees lack of pitching I would say the series would be over.

A guy can dream can’t he?

——————————

Dear Mr. Dagash-

I’m just a simple country boy, and don’t have a fax machine. I’m

actually not sure if there is even one in this county. You see, it’s

only my family that lives here (about 100,000 acres with only us 6

living on it.)

As for a phone number, alas I can’t give that out. The last time I

did those cotton picking carpet baggers from up north wouldn’t stop

hounding me about steel siding. 30 years without painting my ass!!!

I’m sure in your area you don’t have to deal with theives like this,

but around here it’s insane.

Anyway, I’m sure you understand why I cannot release my number.

However, I would love to keep up with the email.

Looking forward to your response.
