NFC Offensive P.O.W

For the fourth time in his career, Daunte Culpepper was named the NFC Offensive player of the week. On Sunday Daunte completed 74% of his passes, threw for 242 yards and 5 touchdowns all without an interception. His passer rating was an eye-popping 147.1.

Although it is completely senseless to even think of it, the season projections based on this game are amazing. If he keeps it up he will have 80 touchdown passes and throw for over 3800 yards. I think the 3800 yards is completely doable. The 80 touchdowns is not.

Twins win again

The Twins won again tonight to get their 8th straight win and their 12 out of the last 14. Carlos Silva pitched a good 5 1/3 innings giving up one hit but no runs and the best group of relief pitchers in the MLB came in to finish up the game. The lone run was given up by JC Romero to the White Sox Joe Crede.

For all intents and purposes, the Twins have clinched the AL Central. They have a 12.5 game lead on the White Sox. Hopefully they can keep this momentum going through the playoffs.

Vacation Time

For my loyal reader, I may be absent for the next week. I am heading to New England to visit with my wife’s family and friends. In my mind the highlight of the week will be deep sea fishing off the coast of Maine. I’m sure hers is the wedding of one of her favorite cousins. Both should be fun, and both of them aren’t work. Gotta love vacations.

Anyway, if I get a chance I will post. If not, see you all somewhere towards the last week of September.

Oh yeah, Twins magic number is 6.
